5-Day Tahr and Chamois Hunt • $7,000 (Feb - Jul)
You will see beautiful countryside in Fox Glacier in the New Zealand Alps and will be staying in a
very nice lodge in Fox Glacier. You will be flown into the New Zealand Alps by helicopter, expect
$1,000 to $1,500 in helicopter fees depending on your shooting ability and trophy expectations.
Once your trophy is spotted, your stalk will begin by “exiting” from the helicopter and attempting
to get into position for your shot. This is a great hunt and you will see lots of game and the sights
are breathtaking! Be sure to have your camera ready during the helicopter ride, you will be hovering
over active glaciers, it is magnificent! |
5-Day Stag Hunt • $5,900 (Feb - Jul)
You will be staying in a very nice lodge. The hunting is done using 4 X
4’s and spot and stalk with some walking and climbing involved. This is
a great hunt and you will see lots of game and magnificent country. |
7-Day Stag, Tahr and Chamois Hunt • $11,900 (Feb - Jul)
A great package hunt that includes 5 day tahr and chamois and the 5 day stag hunt. Once you have
completed your hunt in the Alps you will be driven to the stag area for the rest of your big game
hunt where you will staying in another very nice lodge. |

| Chamois |

The elusive and beautiful Chamois is hunted in the New Zealand Alps. The helicopter charge is between $750-$1000 for the Chamois
(depends on shooting ability and trophy expectations). The Chamois is a great trophy and a great deal of fun to hunt. |
| Fallow Deer |
$2,750 |
New Zealand has great hunting for the beautiful Fallow Deer. They are found in the same area as the Stag. |
| Feral Sheep (Arapoa) |
$950 |
These guys are now accepted by SCI toward the South Pacific Award level and make a fun hunt in the mountains in the
same general area as the Stags. |
| Red Stag |
$4,000 |
The Stags will range from 260 to 320, the heavy horned Stags are magnificent and make a wonderful hunt. An
upgrade to Gold Medal is available (above 327) for $3,000. |
| Spanish Goat (Catalina) |
$750 |
The Spanish Goat (Catalina or Feral Goats) are usually found in the same mountains where you will be hunting Stag. |
| Tahr |
$3,250 |
The elusive and beautiful Tahr is hunted in the New Zealand Alps. The helicopter charge is between $750-$1000 for the Tahr
(depends on shooting ability and trophy expectations). The Tahr is a great trophy and a great deal of fun to hunt. |
| Wapiti (Elk) |
$5,000 |
You will be hunting Elk in the range from 310 to 350 SCI score. The elk are hunted in the same area of New Zealand as
the Fallow and Stags. Expect shots from 50 to 300 yards. |
| Whitetail Deer |
$4,000 |
There will be helicopter charges (same as Chamois and Tahr) to hunt Whitetail. These Whitetail Deer live in very dense,
steep terrain and were imported from the USA in the early 1900’s — they range in size to that of Whitetail found in
Virginia ranging 90 to 120 SCI score. |
| Wild Boar |
$1,250 |
Most of the Wild Boar hunting is done on large farms and ranches where they are problems for both the crops and livestock. |
Turkey Hunting (Expenses only) |
No Trophy Fees |
If you complete your booked species early NZMH can take you turkey hunting if available. There are no Trophy Fees.
Licenses, travel and equipment may be an extra cost depending on the location. The Turkey is hunted on very large sheep ranches. Expenses must be paid by the Hunter. |
| Waterfowl Hunting |
$600/Day |
Two seasons are available, last week of February through March and the first Saturday of May through the last Sunday
in July. Waterfowl hunting days can be added to your adventure on big game hunts during these two seasons. |
| Daily Fees |
$500 |
Daily fees are built into the package prices above for the hunter. Observer fees can be added to your contract, please let FTW know ahead of time. Observer fees include meals and lodging costs, unless overnight sightseeing is requested. |
